06 Dec 14 - Hero Monster Zero

Now, downstairs....

It's get time to cheer for Hero Monster Zero ...that local rock band that combines the elements of lyrical hip hop/rap within its music.

Though it may be something not entirely new in today's music scene, however, when this band does it, it's fast, furious and a whole lot of fun, blogspot readers ...especially since this reviewer is not a huge of the hip hop genre. Yet with Hero Monster Zero, SouthSide enjoyed the high intense energy each member brings to the stage amidst the rockin' upbeat rhythm and front man Andy's lyrical/vocal style which instantly pumps the crowd into a frenzy.

Performing songs like Suck My Kiss and new ones off the album Nice To Want - She Got Me and Steppin' On Me, there was no slowing down Hero for one minute while on stage even while going "old school" with songs like Walk This Way and Freakin' Out (featuring Megatron). Then there was a moment when the spotlight truly shined on the heartfelt side to Andy's vocal as shown during the rendition of Stay With Me in which his voice emitted the sentimental tenderness felt within the words ...making this particular song his own, blogspot readers. Yet Hero Monster Zero really let the audience have it towards the end of their EP performance with the song Forget You, Goodbye that brought down the house.

SouthSide highly recommends snagging a copy of Hero Monster Zero's three-song EP when they perform again in 2015 at the legendary Metro on January 23 along with 8090 (Andy's other band), Cardinal Harbor, Jackpot Donnie, The Sweeps and Rory Sullivan (18+ show) ...tickets on sale now, blogspot readers.
